The Waterfront at Camp Taconic

Taconic’s spacious waterfront is the focus of still another aspect of camp life. It provides campers safe and distinct areas to sail, canoe, kayak, windsurf, water ski and swim.

Our instructional swim program takes place in one of two heated pools. Certified instructors utilize the American Red Cross swimming program. They work with small groups of campers in the water and on dry land, teaching everything from basic strokes to racing dives and advanced techniques. All campers also have the opportunity to participate on the swim team; competing against other Berkshire Camps.

Camp Taconic’s water ski program is one of our most popular activities. Our experienced ski staff teaches children of all abilities using our three ski nautique boats. Each day, campers can opt to work on their water ski, wakeboard or kneeboard techniques. More advanced skiers challenge themselves on Taconic’s own water ski course at the Point, accompanied by instructors.
